This is McLaren’s ‘Stealth Mode’ livery for Singapore and Japan
Black is back for the next two grands prix as McLaren wheels out yet another special-edition livery
Anyone getting slightly bored of these yet? This here livery is McLaren’s latest special-edition colour scheme, and it’ll be run at this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix and at the race in Japan the following week.
It’ll be the team’s third special-occasion-slash-sponsorship-rebrand in just nine races, having used its (very cool) Triple Crown livery in Monaco and Spain and (also very cool) one-off chrome scheme for the British GP at Silverstone back in July.
This time it’s main sponsor OKX getting its order in, with a request of ‘more black, please’ by the looks of it. The livery has been dubbed ‘Stealth Mode’ by McLaren: for their sake, let’s hope it doesn’t mean they’ll be hiding in the middle of the pack this weekend.
“Our partnership with OKX goes from strength to strength, and it’s fantastic to celebrate it with this incredible livery,” said McLaren CEO Zak Brown. “Stealth Mode flips our race car’s colours, bringing something exciting and different to these two great races in Singapore and Japan.
“We hope fans will love it as much as we do and get a chance to enjoy the fan zone to connect with our team. OKX are a dedicated supporter of McLaren’s journey, and in turn we’re proud to bring our partnership to life on track through the global platform of Formula 1.”
Meanwhile Williams is also bringing a special livery to the table this weekend, with Gulf colours set to adorn Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant’s car for three races in Singapore, Japan and Qatar.
