Want the new Peugeot 408 First Edition? That’ll be £43,250, please
Just 50 examples of the new Peugeot 408 crossover are coming to the UK in First Edition form
Back in June Peugeot revealed the new 408 for the first time, and with a public debut coming at the Paris Motor Show later this month we now have our first details of the high-spec First Edition that’ll kick off the crossover’s production.
Based on the top-of-the-range GT trim that’ll crown the full 408 line-up, the First Edition will add 20-inch diamond-cut alloys, a 7.4kW on-board charger and a ‘driver and passenger Seat Pack’. Altogether now: ‘Oooooh!’
A complimentary Electric Pack is also offered until 31 October, which throws in a Pod Point home wallbox, £500 of public charging via Octopus Energy’s Electroverse (must be similar to the Spider-Man’s Spider-Verse…) and four years or 40,000 miles of servicing.
Also included is that fine-looking blue metallic paint, Peugeot’s i-Cockpit system with a 10-inch colour touchscreen and 3D instrument panel, plus heated front seats approved by AGR (a German campaign group for healthier backs) with five massage settings. Partially clad in Alcantara too, don’t you know.
First Editions will run Peugeot’s 222bhp plug-in hybrid powertrain, though we’re yet to hear exactly how much electric range you’ll get with it; in the smaller 308 hatch it’s 37 miles on paper, so expect a figure in that ballpark.
Only 50 examples will find their way to the UK, and orders can be placed online now for £43,250. Roll up, roll up…
