The ‘Sting’ package from Archimedes Defence will now Terminator-proof your Tesla Cybertruck
Extra body armour, bigger tyres and an on-board engine generator form the substantial additions. Oh, did we mention it looks terrifying?
What you’re looking at is the new ‘Sting’ aftermarket bolt-on package offered by Archimedes Defence (in partnership with Unplugged Performance), which turns your average Tesla Cybertruck into one that can quite literally weather a T-800-led storm.
That’s because the thick extra layers of steel and ceramic muscle mean it can withstand machine gun rounds of up to 14.5mm in size in its upper-tier ‘APC’ form, or up to 7.62mm ammunition with the mid-level ‘Protector’ package. Maybe the dinosaurs should’ve just ordered one of these 65 million years ago.
Other body modifications spotted include two huge antennas out back, chunkier off-road all-terrain tyres of unknown size (we're guessing 763in) and a few more fog lamps out front. The reinforced doors have also resulted in smaller side windows, while the whole upper rear half now looks like an airport’s traffic control tower.
No changes will be made to your pre-existing powertrain, but Archimedes has said it’ll fit an 800V AMP Drive G125 engine generator in the frunk that can run on various fuel types. That generator will also be able to charge the Cybertruck’s electric motors and can charge other vehicles at speeds of up to 125kW using the NACS cable provided. Impressive stuff.
No mention of pricing or a potential release date yet, but we do hope it comes before Skynet bears fruit.
