Porsche Panamera Executive goes long

Long wheelbase Panam' arrives, and you can get it in the UK. With 542bhp...

Published: 09 Nov 2016

Do not adjust your screens, your aspect ratio isn’t out of whack. You are looking at the new, longer, more capacious Porsche Panamera Executive – with a wheelbase stretched by 150mm compared to the standard model. And the really good news? It isn’t just for the back seat obsessed Chinese, you can buy the bigger Panamera in the UK, too.

Effectively a new trim level, the Executive is available exclusively with four-wheel drive and with a choice of four engines. There’s a new entry-level 325bhp version of the 3.0-litre V6 turbo (20bhp stronger than the previous-gen entry V6), or the same engine with 433bhp in the 4S. The plug-in Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive is good for 456bhp, but if you’re really late for that meeting, it’s the 542bhp Turbo you want.

Of course, the Executive doesn’t only offer more wiggle-room for your toes, you get a panoramic roof, heated and electrically adjustable seats front and rear, adaptive air suspension with PASM and a roll up sunblind, as standard. On top of that the E-Hybrid and S models add four-wheel steer and soft-close doors, while the Turbo throws in four-zone climate control and LED headlights. And we haven’t even got to the options list yet...

A new centre console offers two folding tables for the full business class flight experience (bottomless champagne and dried out steak not included), while the rear seat entertainment package integrates a pair of 10.1-inch tablet transforming the car into a ‘fully digitised workplace’, or ‘excellent place to put your feet up and binge on Netflix’.

Prices start at £76,034 for the Panamera 4 Executive (a £6,622 rise over the standard-length 4) rising to £84,838, £98,672 and £122,480 for the stretched E-Hybrid, 4S and Turbo respectively.
