This is the most powerful Skoda Karoq you can get right now
187bhp petrol engine joins the SUV range, with a Paris Motor Show debut
Skoda has announced its most powerful Karoq yet: the new SportLine, which gets its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October.
Temper your excitement, mind. This isn't a mad, 400bhp Macan-troubling SuperSUV, but a mildly hot version that packs the VW Group's 2.0-litre TSI engine. With 187bhp, it becomes the most powerful petrol engine in the Karoq range.
A 2.0-litre TDI engine is also available, with four-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG box optional on all models. A mini 1.5 TSI petrol can also be specced.
Further sporty SportLine upgrades include bigger bumpers, exclusive 19-inch black alloys and snazzy SportLine logos on the mudguards. There are also tinted windows and black roof rails for the full original-gangster effect.
Inside, there’s virtual cockpit (optional again, though…), sport seats, Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging, plus lots of storage and a self-close boot lid.
Skoda has already said the Karoq Scout edition – a more rugged, off-road version - will debut at the Paris show too. What you feeling - comfort or speed? Decide in October.
