The Hyundai Inster is a 221-mile small EV that'll land later this year

See what details you can pick out from these shady teaser pics

Published: 11 Jun 2024

Hyundai’s new small electric car will be called the ‘Inster’, and it'll be based on the petrol-powered, Korean market-only Casper. Here's your first 'look'. Clearly, the Inster's gargantuan battery has sucked up all the lighting energy from the photoshoot.

We jest. It likely won't have a gargantuan battery, because its a 'sub-compact' EV, and Hyundai has only said thus far that it'll get 221 miles of range on a single charge. Looks like the Inster’s styling will preview some nice elements, mind.

The first set of images reveals signature daytime LED headlights with spherical clusters at each corner, while the rear adopts a multi-cube design. Plenty of body cladding is dotted around the exterior and roof rails perched up top, which should make for appealing Inster-gram content.

It will make its global debut at the Busan International Mobility Show on 27 June, and is expected to go on sale in the coming months to challenge the likes of the Citroen e-C3 and the BYD Dolphin.
