This adorable Bugatti Baby II special edition celebrates the new Tourbillon hypercar

Want the world’s cutest toy car and *lots* of fancy Aerolithe colouring? Look no further

Published: 25 Sep 2024

Few things in the automotive world are more adorable than a brood of Bugatti Baby IIs. And now you can have your winsome 230-odd kilogram electric homage to the original Type 35 in a special ‘Tourbillon Edition’, which draws cues from the marque’s latest hypercar.

The main change is in the colourway, which just shouts vintage appeal. The two-tone Aerolithe exterior, for instance, is combined with 'Nocturne Black' alloys and a 'Gunmetal Grey' fuel cap. Meanwhile, the cabin gets generous amounts of Aerolithe leather hide. Looks snug.

Otherwise, most of the components seem to be carried over from the standard Bugatti Baby II and still take… many hours to put together. 200 to be exact, according to its creator Hedley Studios (formerly The Little Car Company).

That’s because traditional construction methods have been used to try and retain as much authenticity as possible. So the aluminium body panels are crafted by hand over wooden bucks just as they were on the Type 35, and the adjustable pedals have been machined using an aluminium billet.

And since it’s an EV - likely retaining the same tiny powertrain - the dials and switchgear have been modified appropriately. Gone are the fuel and oil pressure gauges and in their place sit battery and power readouts.

No word on pricing yet, but expect to fork out more than the standard version’s £55k. Cute isn’t always cheap, as it happens.
