This retro-styled EV is the $499k Alpha Montage
Alpha is back with another set of renders. This time of an odd-looking retro coupe
We’ve covered Californian EV startup Alpha a fair bit on TopGear.com – chiefly because they create some really rather lovely renders of supposed future production cars. And here’s yet another one, although we’re not quite sure what to make of the 'Montage'.
We’re told that it’ll be a limited-edition coupe costing (hope you’re sitting down) $499,000. For that you get a carbon fibre reinforced plastic and aluminium retrotastic body, as well as wire wheels, lots of chrome and funny-looking LED headlamps.
You also get a 400V electric architecture with a 200bhp motor powering the rear wheels and an unspecified battery providing a range of 250 miles.
Inside there are two seats, lots of lovely materials, some digital dials and lovely old-school heater controls. Looks like there’ll be huge amounts of boot space what with the two load spaces front and rear, and a shelf behind the passengers.
To paraphrase Team America then, are you gonna need a Montage?
