The Polestar 2 BST 230 is a £74k limited edition EV
Second BST car limited to 230 units revealed, just 25 coming to the UK
Polestar explicitly notes the ability to explore “colours, graphics and materials in faster and more creative ways” with this new special edition, but implicit is the ability to simply go really fast, really creatively.
Welcome to the Polestar 2 BST edition 230. Like its predecessor – the BST edition 270 revealed in 2022 – it is a long-winded name for a car that makes short shrift of acceleration.
The 230, like the 270, features the heightened state of tune from the twin-motor powertrain, more easily translated as 469bhp/502lb ft of torque, and the ability to hit 62mph from rest in just 4.4 seconds on the way to 125mph flat out.
And like the 270, it deploys a range of chassis tweaks including really very fancy bespoke Ohlins dampers – two-way adjustable with auxiliary adjustment chambers mounted under the bonnet – a 25mm lowered ride height, and a new front strut bar.
There are single piston, large ventilated Brembos front and back attempting to haul in the 230’s decent turn of speed, too.
About those colours, graphics and materials. There’s a special shade of green for the paintwork (or black with a body stripe), along with microsuede upholstery for the seats and steering wheel inserts. The sills have been painted, there are high gloss black mirrors, and 21in forged wheels.
The moniker denotes the number – only 230 will be built, with just 25 cars headed for the UK, each costing £73,900.
