New Jaguar I-Pace 400 Sport revealed for the UK
New 394bhp EV heads up the refreshed Jaguar I-Pace range
Jaguar has revealed a new version of its rather delectable electric car. And it is thus: behold, the Jaguar I-Pace 400 Sport, exclusively built for the United Kingdom.
It sits atop the other I-Pace derivatives, which run ‘R Dynamic S’, ‘R Dynamic SE Black’, and ‘R Dynamic HSE Black’, with this 400 Sport acting as the new halo Jag EV. Already, it’s easier to write down and say, which is a boon.
The other big boon is the 400 Sport’s trim which takes in a “discreet” rear spoiler, standard-fit adaptive air suspension, 22in gloss black alloys, and slimline performance seats decked out in Windsor leather with 14-way adjustability. They’re heated and cooled, too.
Speaking of heat, the 400 Sport packs the familiar I-Pace drivetrain: a 90kWh battery powering motors front and back, able to accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 124mph. The Sport also gets standard-fit ‘Adaptive Surface Response’.
Jaguar tells us all I-Pace models get a new grey grille that replaces the gloss black lozenge pattern of earlier cars. The same grey colour adorns the vertical blades that sit outside the front apertures, the body ‘finishers’ and rear diffuser are body-coloured now, and in perhaps the biggest news yet, the Jaguar badge in the grille is now black and silver.
Scratch that, the really big news is the price: the 400 Sport checks in at £79,995. The base car starts at £69,995, for reference.
