Hyundai has facelifted the Ioniq 5 and added a slightly sporty ‘N Line’ trim

Hyundai has given the Ioniq 5 a mid-cycle refresh, and among the new bits is a bigger 84kWh battery (up from 77kWh) to increase its range by an unspecified amount from 315 miles to… some more.

Still, the facelift also brings with it a revamped front and rear bumper, with the former featuring a more exposed lower vent and extended lines which now run right across to the wheel arches, while the latter has a more sculpted rear three-quarter. Still looks fantastic, doesn't it?

You also get a slightly longer rear wing and thinner five-spoke alloys as standard. All in, these changes have increased the Ioniq 5’s length by a whole two centimetres. Enjoy that when it comes to parking it.

Inside, you’ll notice a more efficiently packaged dashboard thanks to a repositioned infotainment screen - which now has Hyundai’s latest 'Navigational Cockpit System' - and climate control selection. The centre console also adopts a physical button to access your most frequently used functions, such as seat ventilation.

A few more safety features are also implemented, including Hands-On Detection Assist and level-two Remote Smart Park Assist, in unison with a new eight-airbag system.

Hyundai has also used this shake-up as a chance to introduce a new ‘N Line’ variant to sit just beneath the full-bore ‘N’, which boasts a slightly more aggressive selection of bumpers, sporty 20in aluminium alloys and a frankly bonkers number of N Line badges around the interior.

Pricing is yet to be disclosed, but expect the standard car to remain close to the current starting price of circa £43,000, while the N Line hovers closer to the £50,000 bracket, when both enter the UK market later this year.
