Detroit 2011: Mopar Fiat 500

Contrary to popular belief, modifying your car using stuff purchased from the back of soon-to-die Max Power will not make it quicker than a Veyron, despite what you may have read on the Internet.

Yet lots of you still desire such aftermarket trinketry. Chrysler reckons 30 per cent of people buy a new car depending on what gubbins they can fit onto it once they've bought it. Enter Mopar, Chrysler's OEM parts brand.

On its Detroit motor show stand, the company is showcasing how it can make a Fiat 500 slightly better. The one you see above features a strut tower brace, lots of chrome, black gloss wheels, carbon fibre gearknob and hand brake, roof/bonnet decals with a double-blue stripe and door-sill guards with the 500 logo.

You can even spec a snowboard carrier. Exactly, us neither.
