Daytona Coupe Le Mans Edition news - Holy Day' - 2009

Liked the look of that Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe we showed you a couple of weeks ago but can’t quite rustle together the £10 million asking price?
Then how about this, the Daytona Coupe Le Mans Edition from Californian firm Exotic Auto Restoration?
Yes, there are quite a few ‘new Daytonas’ out there, but we reckon this is the damn purdiest one we’ve seen. Based on Superformance’s Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe – which is designed by Peter Brock, the same gent that drew up the 1960s original – it’s packed with gorgeous details. We’re loving the flared arches, old-school 18-inch wheels and, er, everything else. All of it.
It won’t be slow. EAR (slightly unfortunate acronym, that) will fit your Daytona Coupe with just about any small-block Ford V8: the car pictured has a whopping 530bhp Roush engine under the long bonnet.
Ask real nice and EAR will even cook you up a Daytona Coupe in full track spec, with a proper roll cage, quick release steering wheel and carbon fibre front and rear splitters.
If you’re keen, you’d better be quick: just six Daytona Coupe Le Mans Editions will be built, exactly the same number as the original Daytona Coupe. Want one?
And, on the subject of, er, things called Daytona, here’s a clip of
Richard and a Ferrari Daytona racing James and a 1,000bhp powerboat along the
Riviera. It’s a tenuous link but, hey, when did that ever stop us?
