The Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV is nearly here

And you can follow its final bits of testing on social media

Published: 04 Apr 2018

This is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the British company’s first SUV. Well, it is if you can see past the camouflage. This isn’t a sneaky spy shot taken by a paparazzo in a bush, though (we don’t really like those at TG). Nope, it’s an official pic released by Rolls.

Why? Because it’s making the final stages of the Cullinan’s testing public. From today, you can apparently follow the Cullinan’s sign off in the rainy Scottish Highlands, snowy Austrian peaks and arid Middle Eastern deserts, all on social media.

It’s unlikely to be some shaky phone pics or banal Instagram stories, either. Rolls has partnered with National Geographic and borrowed some of its favourite adventurers for the journey, to make sure it’s properly chronicled.

“I promised the public three years ago that I would involve them in the development and testing of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan,” says Rolls boss Torsten Müller-Ötvös. “Today’s customers will see us in a wholly new light as Cullinan demonstrates just how capable a Rolls-Royce can be.”

That may be true, but will it make a Rolls SUV any easier to swallow? Or do you quite like the look of what’s being teased above? Use the comments box to let us know. But not before swotting up on what we know about the Cullinan so far…
