Here’s what the next Rolls Phantom Coupe could look like

Online render genius turns new Phantom into coupe, cabrio and estate. Like them?

Published: 04 Aug 2017

We’re well accustomed with the works of X-Tomi Design, an online illustrator who’s fairly adept at showing us what future cars could look like.

Cars like the next Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe and Drophead. We saw the brand new Phantom last week, a 563bhp V12 super saloon of the most luxurious order. For all its resemblance to the car it replaces, it’s a complete reworking of the poshest car in the world.

Will we see coupe and cabriolet versions, as with the Phantom it replaces? Who knows. Rolls’ wording when the previous generation cars ended production suggests the Phantom Coupe and Drophead were properly bowing out. Perhaps the Wraith and Dawn, more bespoke two-door reworkings of the smaller Rolls-Royce Ghost, may now be your way into a sportier Rolls.

But the frequent special editions of the old Phantom two-doors showed that Rolls lavished lots of love and attention upon them, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see replacements. Ones which look more than a little like the speculative renders above.

What’s less likely is the Phantom shooting brake that X-Tomi has also crafted. If you want a practical Rolls, you’ll be directed towards its new SUV, we’d imagine. But it's an interesting notion nonetheless.

Like what you see? Should Rolls build range-toppers like these?
