Behind-the-scenes on the new Top Gear DVD

Seven days, over 1,000 miles, 20 cars, two boats, a motorbike and a singular purpose: to get from Venice to Pau, France, home of the very first Grand Prix race in 1901.

When Clarkson and Hammond sat down in the summer to plan their perfect road trip, this is what they came up with.

And happily, they filmed it all. And took along just a few of their favourite cars, including a Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Huayra, Model T Ford, Ferrari F12, Porsche 911 GT3, Bentley Continental GTC, Rolls Royce Phantom, BAC Mono, V8 F-Type, Golf GTi and Hammond’s very own 1962 E-Type roadster…
