Gallery: supercars of London, summer 2015 edition

The annual hypercar migration to our capital is complete, and you won’t believe the cars currently on the streets

Published: 07 Aug 2015

Londoners! Summer is officially here!

How do we know this for sure? Is it because every beer garden is full of people drowning themselves with Pimms? Nope. Because the Tube (when it’s running) is an unbearable petri dish of sweat and grime? Again, no.

No, we know it’s summer because, once again, Zone 1 of our nation’s capital is littered with a husk of hypercars from around the world.

Yes, the seasonal invasion of foreign plated exotica has hit central London and is coming in hot. This year, though, the supercars are under strict scrutiny.

Last week, the Kensington and Chelsea borough council began consultation on introducing a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) aiming to cut down any four-wheeled anti-social behavior and hooliganism.

The PSPO hopes to restore peace for residents in the posh part of town. They’ll be clamping down on activities including sitting on a car's rev limiter, using an Aventador's quad pipes as a flamethrower, irresponsible acceleration, and generally acting like a rowdy yob.

Failure to comply with this PSPO would result in a £100 on-the-spot fine, a figure we suspect won’t cause undue to concern to your average Knightsbridge supercar owner. But, if deemed necessary, potential prosecution could also be on the cards for repeat offenders.

To see who might be on the council’s watchlist this summer, we dispatched our resident supercar paparazzo Alex Penfold onto the streets of London.

As you can see in the gallery above, whether it’s a McLaren F1 GTR, Porsche 917, LaFerrari or Aventador SV, there’s quite the selection of supercars proudly jamming up our capital’s poshest roads.

Click through and prepare to drool. And, your challenge - if you choose to accept it - is to name all 48 lumps of super-expensive metal gallerized above for your enjoyment.
