Tyred

With winter finally upon us this month, the C4S has, as Martin Brundle would put it “had a new set of boots”. As regular readers will know, the C4S was named our Best Winter Weapon in last month’s issue and we have continually been impressed with its staggering grip levels on the Pirelli P Zeros. But with the ice becoming more prevalent and the road where I live becoming ever slicker early in the morning, we’ve taken the opportunity to try the Pirelli Sottozero winters. While tyre width remains the same at the front, the rears lose 10mm (down to 295mm). The more observant of you will also have noticed the change from the RS Spyder rims to the Carrera S wheels – personally I’ve always preferred this design.

While it’s still early days, the difference is very apparent – grip levels have gone from “Watch this” to “No, I don’t know how it does that either”. Good.
