Does it matter that the Nissan Juke is built in Britain?
A quick bitesize digest of facts and figures for you. Very handy, in case that Zoom pub quiz turns nasty and suddenly demands in-depth knowledge of exactly how many vehicles Nissan has built in the UK so far this year.
Are you ready? Well, thanks to the Power of the Internet (and a login for the Nissan press site) I can tell you that in January a total of 28,158 vehicles left the production line, in February, 34,522 vehicles were made and in March – not such good news – 18,840 vehicles were built. Sales of the Juke in the UK January–March were over 5,000.
Pretty good, all things considered. Due to BBC guidelines, I now must tell you that other fascinating facts and figures are available. Nevertheless, you can see just why it’s been such a political hot potato ensuring that Nissan maintains its car-building presence in the UK.
Meanwhile, buying a Juke rather than one of its rivals means your car’s carbon footprint before it reaches your front door is lower than one that’s been built and shipped from halfway across the world. An interesting thought to ponder, despite the fact the Juke has no all-electric or hybrid version, no?
