Suzuki eVitara review

OK, let’s keep this as simple as possible. The 49kWh/2WD eVitara starts from £26,249. The 61kWh/2WD eVitara starts from £29,249. The 61kWh/4WD eVitara starts from £31,249. All with Suzuki’s electric grant. Got it?

On lease, you’re looking at £269, £299 and £329 respectively, with a circa-£5,000 down payment on a four-year lease deal. Suzuki is also offering a free Ohme home charger (including installation) to anyone who orders an eVitara before the end of 2025. Should save you a couple of hundred quid.

Of its rivals, a Ford Puma and Renault 4 will set you back roughly around the same figure, the Jeep Avenger a couple of grand more, and the more premium Kia EV3, Skoda Elroq and Volvo EX30 significantly so. 

What's the kit list like?

Nice and easy to understand at least – you’ve just Motion and Ultra to choose from. Spec the smaller battery, and Motion is your only option.

As standard you get 18in alloys, LED headlights, rear privacy glass, 10.25in digital dial and 10.1in infotainment displays, interior ambient lighting, sliding rear seats, front and rear parking sensors, rear-view camera and the usual suite of driver assist functions. Plus keyless entry and start. Pretty generous to our eyes.

Ultra adds 19in alloys, adaptive headlights, glass roof, half leather interior, 10-way adjustable driver’s seat, wireless phone charger, Infinity premium audio system, and a 360-degree camera. Oh, and if you’ve specced the silver or green paint it also brings with it the choice of grey or tan interior trim. You want tan.

Options are non-existent – because simplicity – meaning your only other decision is colour. White comes as standard, anything else single-tone is £650, or if you want dual-tone it’s another three hundred quid.

What would you suggest?

To our eyes the only really recommendable eVitara is the four-wheel drive variant. We’ve made no secret that the tan interior trim and glass roof are peak Vitara to our eyes, which requires you to step up to the Ultra trim.

Oh, and one more thing to mention – as standard you get a three-year warranty, but with every qualifying service this increases by a year, up to 10 years.
