Buying
What should I be paying?
Prices in the UK start at £221,500 and there are three optional trim packages, Performance, TechLux and Vision, which cost £5,050 on top of the standard price. McLaren, like most companies in this heady space, charges hefty money for options.
There are five standard colours, 20 ‘elite’ colours are available as an option, with a further 18 under the MSO umbrella (think £££). Its residual values cause much conversation in online forums, and it’s working hard to improve its reputation when it comes to build quality. Certainly, our time in the Artura Spider was trouble-free, and the car felt immaculately put together.
A five-year warranty is included, six years or 45,000 miles for the battery and 10 for the body. But have a quick look online and you’ll find Arturas with negligible mileages for £160k or less.
Amusingly, the Artura Spider is rated at 58.9mpg WLTP, thanks to its electric capability. Its 108g/km CO2 emissions figure is equally impressive. In the real world, a combined figure of 34mpg is said to be possible, but during our spirited test drive we managed to seriously dent those credentials. Drive it normally and the Artura is a reasonably efficient machine.
