Buying
What should I be paying?
Prices for the base Emeya start at £85,900, undercutting the cheapest Porsche Taycan by a cheeky few hundred pounds. It’s then quite a leap to the Emeya S, at £101,950. After all, you’re getting no extra power, but ceramic brakes and forged alloy wheels are added as standard.
The Emeya R range topper starts at £129,950. That’s almost £10,000 less than the equivalent Porsche Taycan Turbo, which is a scant 0.1sec quicker from 0-62mph, and still has the temerity to want more money for ceramic brakes, rear-wheel steering and 21in rims. Then again, do you really need any of the above? We’d argue not. But it’s nice of Lotus to chuck them in on the house.
Any spec advice?
Beyond buying the base car and saving yourself a packet, it’s quite hard to muck one of these up. There are only six colours to choose from: two greys, a black, a white, and a yellow or orange. There are five ‘themes’ to choose inside, all with delightfully knurled switchgear.
