Overview

What is it?

Hyundai’s Prius, really. It’s got the teardrop, aero-smarting shape. It’s got clumsy detailing so no onlooker will doubt you’re driving a green car. And it’s powered by a combination of 1.6-litre petrol and electric motor power – if you choose it to be. You’ll also be able to buy a fully electric Ioniq that’s targeting the Nissan Leaf head-on, with its competitive 174-mile range good enough to have the BMW i3 nervous. Ioniq Electrics get the cooper-coloured trim, and hybrids have blue highlights.
