What should I be paying?
Technically there are eight different trim levels for the Fiesta these days, although that includes the Active, Active Vignale and the full-fat ST, none of which we’re focusing on here. That leaves the base spec Trend trim that starts at £19,405 with the 99bhp engine and a six-speed manual.
Trend brings 15-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, a lane-keeping aid, air conditioning and that eight-inch touchscreen. Most will at least make the step to the £20,905 Titanium though for the additional SYNC 3 touchscreen, chrome trim and extra tech. That tech includes the Driver Assistance Pack as standard, meaning you get adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and autonomous emergency braking. Insurers will love that.
The Titanium Vignale starts at £22,605, while ST-Line is £22,255 and ST-Line Vignale ups the entry point to a hefty £23,785. If you’re desperate for a fully-loaded Fiesta with the more powerful MHEV setup and an auto gearbox, you’ll pay £26,355 before options. Ouch.
In terms of efficiency, Ford claims between 48.7 and 51.4mpg for the 99bhp EcoBoost, with a five per cent improvement if you spec the mild-hybrid system. In an auto gearbox-equipped ST-Line Vignale on large 18-inch wheels, we managed an average of over 42mpg with the 123bhp MHEV. Not bad going.
