Stock this limited-edition Smeg mini fridge with energy drinks to get you through the Le Mans 24hrs
Shall we all agree that these brand tie-ups have gone too far? Le Mans spec fridge is… interesting
Do you like 24-hour endurance racing? Do you also like cold drinks and questionable brand tie-ups? If the answer to those questions is a resounding 'yes', we've got just the thing for you.
Or rather, Smeg has. As you may be able to tell, this is a Smeg mini fridge that’s been designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Yes, you did read that correctly, and side note: it would seem that getting any kind of variation into fridge photography is rather difficult.
Anyway, the Fifties-style fridge is just under a metre tall and apparently gets 122 litres of storage space (almost as much as a Honda e, that) for the myriad of energy drinks that you’ll need on hand to stay up for the full 24 hours of racing on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June.
The less said about the “eye-catching” graphic on the front the better, though, and you might need to be sitting down with a strong drink to be able to digest the price. There’s no easy way of saying this – it’s £1,299. Yikes. You could buy a bargain Mazda MX-5 and start your own track car project for less than that. Not a bad idea, that...
