Check out this 911-inspired flat-six coffee machine

South African company Super Veloce recreates a Porsche icon in coffee machine form

Published: 12 May 2020

In less isolated times, the coffee machines in the Top Gear office were worked overtime throughout the day. Oh how we miss them. They may make a decent café au lait and an acceptable americano, though, but they certainly don’t look as good as this.

This, is the Espresso Veloce RS Black Edition. It’s built by South African company Super Veloce and is inspired by the air-cooled flat-six from the 993-generation Porsche 911. Coolest coffee machine ever? Yep, we reckon so.

Super Veloce makes a whole host of engine-inspired machines, and this one’s actually a blacked-out, more aggressive version of their standard Flat-Six maker.

Apparently, the Black Edition is made from stainless steel, aluminium alloy, titanium and carbon fibre. It’s hardly lightweight, though – Super Veloce says it weighs 21.5kg all in.

Only 993 examples will be built – for obvious reasons – and each one will cost €10,200.
