BMW’s latest art car is a graffitied M2
Modern artist Futura 2000 creates three one-off M2s
Internet, do you like ART? Yes? Good – because BMW has just expanded its fleet of art cars with a few M2s painted by American graffiti artist FUTURA 2000. The first of the three one-off M2 Competitions – one of which is pictured – debuted at last weekend’s Frieze Los Angeles art fair, which was held at Paramount Pictures’ studios in Hollywood.
FUTURA 2000, born Leonard Hilton McGurr, is also teaming up with BMW to create a car you can actually buy. Yep, the more subtle black car pictured is the ‘BMW M2 Edition designed by FUTURA 2000’ – a limited edition (we don’t yet know how limited) M2 that goes on sale in June.
Among other things you get individually painted interior trim, Futura’s signature, an Alcantara steering wheel and special seats, as well as black wheels and that paintwork.
The question is, though, how does Futura’s M2 compare to BMW’s other art cars? Click on these words to flick through them, then tell us which one’s your favourite in the comments below.
