Is the *four-tonne* Cadillac Escalade IQ peak US luxury, or... just too much?
Time to take a closer look at the new electric Caddy. All four tonnes of it
Just how big and heavy is ‘too big and heavy’ for a family 4x4? Our American cousins usually like to supersize things, but the new all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ takes things to a new and terrifying level.
Based on a stretched version of the double-decker platform from the Hummer EV, it’s a luxury SUV with 24in wheels, two cargo bays, up to eight seats, over fifty inches of screen, and a claimed 400 miles of range. Oh, and it weighs over four tonnes.
Is this the point where even the American public start to admit that enough is enough when it comes to SUV bloat, or is it merely the four-wheeled epitome of the American Dream?
