Video: demolishing a 5500 tonne motorway bridge…

Y'see - the Highways Agency can pull its finger out if it really, really tries; it managed to tear down a 5500-tonne bridge over the M1 in just 36 hours.

Between Friday January 6 and Sunday January 8, the HA used 12 excavators to demolish the 85-metre-long Catthorpe Viaduct. Until mid-December it had carried M6 southbound traffic over the M1.
