The Vauxhall Corsa was the UK’s best-selling car in 2021

Huge news in the world of UK car sales, and for once we’re not actually being sarcastic – the Vauxhall Corsa has been announced as the UK’s best-selling car of 2021.

Amazingly, the current-gen Corsa’s popularity last year means that a new manufacturer tops the standings for the first time in 50 years. The folks at Ford will be fuming. The Fiesta has been knocked off its perch after 12 consecutive years at the top, too. 

According to Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders' (SMMT) figures, over 40,000 Corsas were shifted in what was a strange year for carmakers and buyers alike. Apparently 5,605 of those were ordered in all-electric Corsa-e flavour, with the rest powered by petrol or diesel.

In less exciting news, the most popular Corsa colours in 2021 were Quartz Grey, Jade White and Diamond Black. We can do better than that, Britain.
