Here are a few wonderful Italian cars we found this week for under £10k

We’ve stumbled upon some real gems in today’s round-up, led by classics from Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and even Lancia

Alfa Romeo Brera

Kickstarting this week’s round-up is a one-of-551 Alfa Romeo 916 Spider, and yes, it does have that 3.2-litre V6 with 24 valves. As per the ad, plenty of work has gone into keeping it roadworthy, including a new cam belt and water pump. Will handily double up as a driveway ornament too.

  • Maserati Coupe 4.2

One of the more modern cars in this list - despite being 20 years old - is the Maserati Coupe; an anomalous result in that it’s Italian and somehow not good-looking. Though, dividends are found elsewhere with its vocal 4.2-litre V8, which sends 390bhp to the rear wheels en route to a 180mph top speed. So it’s fast and ugly in equal parts.

Housing an almost identical engine to the aforementioned 916 Spider, the Alfa Romeo GT is a hard-top, four-seat alternative which maintains the smooth, buxom design language but with a few mechanical changes. The headline acts include a Quaife limited-slip differential and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust, so you’d better stock up on cotton buds for maximum enjoyment.

  • Fiat 124 Spider

Let’s bring another slightly more modern vehicle into the fray for a minute. It’s not impossible to find Fiat 124s under this budget, but one that looks as good as this? Good luck. It may lack the sought-after Abarth badge, but a minor remap has taken it up to 180bhp - the perfect figure to exploit along a winding mountain road.

  • Alfa Romeo Brera

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to the Brera since this is one car Alfa did manage to shift in respectable quantities. Not surprising - with its spherical headlight cluster and sloping silhouette, the design has aged like fine wine.
