Volkswagen Arteon R Shooting Brake
The 316bhp Volkswagen Arteon R is a very good-looking car - particularly in Shooting Brake form. The curved lines on its face and fancy alloys do well to give its strong 2.0-litre powertrain and DSG gearbox pairing a physique to be proud of, and though this one’s a high-miler for its age, it still looks mint.

Kia’s answer to the super saloon question, and a proper one of those ‘if you know, you know’ cars. You’ve got 365bhp on tap from its 3.3-litre V6, which is a fair trade-off to the somewhat bland interior. Still, the GT S is a lot of car for the money, which in this case is £21,360.
Ford Fiesta ST-3
Here’s an almost brand-new swansong generation of the much-loved Ford Fiesta ST - a car whose retirement still hits us right in the feels. It’s got a six-speed manual box and is as close to fully loaded as you can expect.

Another devilishly handsome wagon. It’s a shame Jaguar never offered this era of XF with the supercharged V8 (oh, just imagine), but as a utilitarian Sportbrake that has plenty of space and usability with a hint of drama when called upon, it’s a strong favourite. More so because there’s a pan roof thrown in too.
Hyundai i20N
Slightly older than the ST, but almost identical on odometer count. The Hyundai i20N is a former Top Gear car of the year winner, thanks to its incredible chassis and zingy all-round performance, so the chance to own one of the last true ICE-powered hot hatches is incredibly tempting for £23k.
Ford Ranger Raptor
A twist on proceedings, but why not chuck a big, mean-faced Ford Ranger Raptor in for a laugh? It’s wider than Scafell Pike, taller than Ben Nevis and comes with just 39,000 on the clock for a bid of... £28,000. OK, so it's breaks the budget a tad, but it's only four years old, and we reckon you should be able to bargain your way down without too much trouble either.
Renault Megane RS300 Trophy
Look, we can’t help ourselves with the hot hatches. And if you can relate, you can also see why this range-topping, manually driven, bright yellow ‘Trophy’ has major want appeal. It’s got bucket seats, a digitalised speedo and a big infotainment touchscreen, but more importantly, 296bhp travelling through a properly focused differential.

One of those cars which quietly gets about its business, not wanting to disturb or bother anybody… until Skoda decides to throw a vRS frock on, give it some dandy new shoes and uprate its four-pot 16-valve powertrain to 242bhp. Then it wants to be a riot. Interested? Here’s a rare ‘Challenge’ spec for £23,700.
Caterham Seven 310R
A true racing car for drivers who want raw mechanical feel in a car that weighs about as much as two ducks. This 310R is five years old and wears just 2,000 miles to its name, with a recent service carried out for its next owner. But if this feels a bit too one-dimensional for your lifestyle, our wildcard should be right up your street…

Not just any Seat Leon Cupra - one that’s been to the gym. The 2.0-litre four-pot has a new air intake, intercooler, coilovers and cat-back exhaust, which means an estimated 400bhp travels through that DSG transmission. The lights have been smoked at either end, and gold accents now accompany the Magnetic Grey paint. Yep, this is wild.
