This is Roush’s 522bhp Ford Raptor

American tuner Roush has done a Ford F-150 Raptor, and it’s quite the thing

Published: 02 Mar 2019

Say hello to a rather large slice of ‘Murica. It’s a Ford F-150 Raptor - a TG favourite - that’s been modified by Roush, a US tuner that specialises in upgrading F-150s and Mustangs.

Usually this modifying revolves around power, and sure enough Roush says it plans to offer a ‘Performance Pac’ engine upgrade that should take the Raptor’s 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 to 522bhp and 565lb ft of torque. But as it’s not available quite yet, early adopters will have to make do with the standard 450bhp and 510lb ft (albeit augmented with a trick exhaust). Still adequate.

There have been no changes to the suspension. The Raptor is already so capable off-road, we bet Roush simply decided to leave the springs and dampers be.

Aesthetic mods include 20-inch off-road wheels with 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tyres, plus a ‘Chase Rack’ with optional lighting and some Roush graphics. Meanwhile inside there’s a custom instrument cluster, Roush embroidery on the seats and some badges. You can also spec a ‘Console Vault’ for locking valuables away.

Prices for the Roush Raptor start at $13,000 over and above the cost of a standard Raptor, which is $52,855.
