The Ford Mustang Bullitt costs nearly £50k
Special edition 'Stang is coming to Britain. At a price...
Is £47,145 a lot of money? Because that’s how much Ford’s charging for the Mustang Bullitt, which has just gone on sale in Britain. And traditionally Mustangs are Not a Lot of Money…
Remember, this is the Mustang that pays homage to Bullitt’s 50th anniversary. It gets an uprated 5.0-litre V8 with 453bhp (14bhp more than standard thanks to a modified intake manifold. Still less than the US-spec car’s 480. Grrrr), special Dark Highland Green paint, 19-inch alloys in black and some badges to remind you exactly what it is you’ve bought.
Inside there’s a pair of leather-trimmed Recaros, a 1,000-watt B&O PLAY stereo and an 8-ball gearlever. The gearbox itself is a six-speed manual with rev-matching, and the brakes substantial Brembos with red calipers. Uprated suspension in the form of “heavy duty” front springs and a bigger rear sway bar round out the changes.
Do those modifications and the Hollywood-connection really make this Mustang worth nearly £50K? We’ll let you know when we’ve driven one. In the meantime, let us know what you think in the comments.
