Cadillac CTS-V news - Estate of fear - 2010

Published: 30 Mar 2010

When the Americans make an estate car, it usually features wooden bodywork and is driven by fat men in fishing hats. But this Caddy is different. It's the wagon version of the CTS-V and - just like the saloon version - it is berserk, thanks to a 6.2-litre V8 with 556bhp and 551lb ft of torque.

Fast estate cars don't sell well Stateside - Audi and BMW don't offer their RS6 and M5 tourers over there and Merc struggles to shift many E-Class AMG wagons. Caddy reckons it can change that by undercutting the Germans by up to 20,000 bucks. Which means the CTS-V wagon will cost roughly the same as the saloon, at around $60,000. A cheap and barmy estate? Yee and, indeed, ha.
