Watch: Chris Evans goes flat out in a Dodge Viper

Top Gear TV returns to your screens this Sunday, and as a little treat to get you ready, here’s our host Chris Evans going flat out in a Viper.

First things first. The Viper in question is an ACR – which stands for American Club Racer. It’s got 645bhp and 600lb ft of torque from a monster 8.4-litre V10 engine, and will hit a top speed of 177mph.

It weighs just 1,549kg. It sports many splitters, dive planes, vents and diffusers. There is a wing. There is much senior intent.
