New issue out now: TG's world exclusive Speedsters mega test
Plus, we get the keys to Aston Martin’s real-life Q Branch… and its special projects
What do you build for the billionaire who has 12 of everything? Supercars with no windscreen, no roof, and no rationale. For one breezy day this month the ultimate speedsters – the Ferrari Monza, the McLaren Elva and the Aston Martin Speedster – were ours. To Scotland, obviously.
You can read all about these mind-blowing (if a little controversial) machines by ordering the latest issue of Top Gear magazine direct to your door by clicking these very words. Or perhaps you’d prefer to download it straight to your phone or tablet? You can do that by clicking here if you’re an Apple user and here for Android users.
Subscribe today and UK-based readers can receive 13 issues for £34.99, saving 44 per cent... PLUS, we will send you a 4th Generation Amazon Echo Dot, worth £49.99! Voice control your entertainment, check the weather, control your smart home or connect with others with Alexa. Oh, and there’s free delivery of all your mags to boot - click these blue words to take advantage. Plus, if you live outside the UK you can still save 25 per cent by clicking here.
That’s not all for this month either, because as well as letting us have a go in the Speedster, Aston Martin threw us the keys to its top-secret Q Branch. That means we got a go in a Vulcan, a One-77, a Vantage V600, the V8-engined Cygnet and the one-off (and utterly astounding-looking) Victor. Quite the list, we think you’ll agree. Read all about each car by grabbing a copy of the mag.
We’ve also got the full download on the Opel Manta GSe: a rear-wheel drive EV with a proper manual gearbox. Spoiler alert, it’s a cool Vauxhall, who would have thought it? Oh, and there’s the small matter of a track battle between the bonkers Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm and the Ford Mustang GT500. It’d be fair to say that things got rather loud…
Elsewhere there’s our usual first drive of every new car that matters, plus plenty of retro goodness including a V8-engined Ferrari Dino restomod and a Mercedes S-Class progress report that features a wonderful 450 SEL 6.9.
