First pics: five-door Volkswagen Up
Volkswagen has released the first pictures of the five-door version of its Up city car, set for a release later this year.
Differences? Well, that extra set of doors, obviously. The front and rear sections are identical in both body versions, while VW tells us the rear doors open wide and offer comfortable entry. We should certainly hope so.

Dimensions, trim levels and engines remain the same as the three-door Up, and although UK prices have yet to be announced, it carries a £390 (€475) premium over its sibling in Germany, where it will launch in March. The five-door version will be available all over Europe by early summer.
It's a good ‘un, the Up. As we pointed out in our huge Awards issue last year, to call it a smaller Golf is to do it a huge disservice. It's fantastically packaged, boasts plenty of passenger space and weighs less than a tonne: it's the cleverest small car around today.
But which one would you buy?
