Yeah, this Lambo Diablo SV is excellent, and you want it

They don't come much rarer - nor in such pristine condition - as perhaps this one. It's an SV, being sold off by SVR. The SV of course, stands for the Lamborghini Diablo 'Super Veloce', here being offered up for sale by supercar dealer 'Super Veloce Racing'. How apt.

It's a minter, too. This 1998 SV was originally painted yellow, but treated to a fine coat of metallic light-blue to give it that rather delectable pearlescent finish you see today. The following year, it was unveiled on Lamborghini's stand at the British Motor Show (yeah, we had one too, don't forget), from where the original owner decided to purchase it, and the rights to the colour scheme. Quite unique, then.

And being an SV meant it got the more powerful iteration of Lamborghini's mid-mounted, 5.7-litre V12, up from the regular Diablo's 490bhp, to 530bhp. With a manual gearbox. And rear-wheel drive. The side skirts are pinched from the SE, there's a carbonfibre gear lever, a performance, stainless-steel exhaust system and two-tone Alcantara interior, too. The latter is a special order, covering every inch of the inside. The SV logo has also been hand embroidered onto the seats.

How many miles, you cry? A mere 6,941 from new. There's a detailed history file documenting just how little it has been driven (including a full Lambo service history), both sets of keys, all the original accessories and even - perhaps the most important bit - a Lamborghini umbrella. Surely worth the asking price alone, no?

Ah yes, price. Though it's on application, expect it to hover around £270k. Which isn't too far off a brand new Aventador.

But then it's a concours-spec Diablo, the last car from the pre-VW era of Lamborghini, wearing a one-off paintjob and low mileage. And a socking great V12, one hooked up to rear-wheel drive. And the kind of looks you probably put up on your bedroom wall.
