#TopGearChallenge Three: Car Design
Pens/Photoshop at the ready! We want you to design a two-seat electric sports car
We’ve seen your engineering and we're currently rifling through your photography, but do you have the chops to be a top car designer? Well, now’s your chance to show us what you’ve got in the locker. Oh, and if you don’t know about #TopGearChallenge yet, click these blue words to get up to speed, then have a go at our latest challenge below.
It’s time to sharpen your pencils or crack open a new Photoshop file as your #TopGearChallenge this week is to design a two-seat electric sports car.
And don’t worry about pesky regulations, your design can be as radical as your imagination allows and entries can be as simple as a hand drawn sketch, or as complex as a fully worked up rendering. We’re just looking for a design that displays imagination, creativity and above all something that looks jaw-droppingly beautiful. So, if you think car design is a bit ‘meh’ at the moment, now is your chance to showcase your brilliance free from the constraints of all the boring legislative stuff that gets in the way in the real world.
Given that designing is a car is a bit trickier than sending us your favourite car photo, we’re giving you two weeks to complete this task - the deadline for entries is midnight (GMT) on Sunday 10 May. The entries will be reviewed by the Top Gear team and design legend Mr Ian Callum, so get scribbling.
How to send us your stuff. Read this bit, it’s really important…
Via Instagram: Post your creation on Instagram and make sure you include the hashtag #TopGearChallengeThree - that’s how we can see it. Note we can only see submissions from ‘public’ profiles, so if you’d rather remain a private Instagram user you’ll need to email us your submission instead. And make sure you follow @topgear on Instagram, otherwise we can’t get back to you!
Via email: If you don’t have Instagram or want to keep your submission out of the public eye until you inevitably win because it’s just so good, then send your picture to: editor@bbctopgearmagazine.com and make sure you title it #TopGearChallengeThree. Please note all entries must be under 15mb file size. Anything over this makes our inbox explode. No, really. And don’t forget to sign up to Top Gear’s regular newsletter, too.
If you’re under 16 then your parent or guardian must submit your content for you.
Terms and Conditions: read these too, they’re also important…
The Top Gear Department of Education isn’t an official qualification so don’t try and use it to get into university or get a job. The Top Gear Challenges are designed to let you showcase your talent and by playing along you agree that any content you send us may be published and may be edited.
