Suzuki Wagon R - Wagoner - 2008
We may be in a minority, but certain factions of the Top Gear office have a soft spot for the Suzuki Wagon R in all its tiny, boxy glory.
And now there's a new one. In Japan, at least. Suzuki has today released an all-new Wagon R into the land of the rising sun, along with a most excellent-sounding Wagon R Stingray variant.
There aren't enough cars named after marionette puppet telly series.
Anyway, are we miles off here, or does it look pretty cool? The standard boxiness and pushed-to-the-corners wheels remain, along with a friendlier face and, in the case of the Stingray, a shiny chrome monobrow.
As per kei car regulations - kei cars avoid tax and that cos they're small - the Wagon R will come with the choice of a naturally-aspirated or turboed 660cc engines, the latter putting out a whopping 64bhp through an automatic gearbox or paddle-shifting CVT.
No definite word on whether the Wagon R will reach the UK yet, but we'd expect to see a few grey imports at least. Preferably done out in fully A-Team livery. With a mini-Mr T as an optional extra...
