There’s another Renault SUV coming

And it’s going to be called Arkana. When will it end?

Another day, another crossover. Renault has announced its next SUV-ish thing – to complement the Captur, Kadjar and Koleos – will be the Arkana.

And this is it. When you stand, really, really close to its boot lid, anyway. Renault will show us the rest of the car next week at the Moscow International Motor Show.

Which is a bit of a hint as to where this car is going to be popular; it’s described as a global model, so it’ll be sold in lots of different markets. Not making its debut at October’s Paris Motor Show – Renault’s home turf, don’t forget – is probably a tacit admission that this isn’t a car whose biggest sales will be in Western Europe.

What does Arkana mean? It’s derived from the Latin word ‘arcanium’, which means ‘secret’. Which admittedly works quite well now, when we’re only being shown a tiny fraction of the car…
