MC Edition is your new go-to Maserati trim
V8 versions of the Maserati Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte now get MC Edition spec
‘Victories, trophies, legendary cars and drivers’: these are things Maserati thinks you think of when you think of Maserati. According to its latest press release, anyway.
A cynic might argue that the brand’s identity has been, er, less distinct than that over the last decade or so, nonetheless there’s now an MC Edition trim to celebrate the company’s ‘uncompromising performance and racing spirit’.
So, the facts: MC Edition is available in Europe, the US and China now on V8 versions of the Levante SUV, Ghibli saloon and Quattroporte limousine.
The former gets 22in wheels while the latter pair ride on 21in rims, all finished in gloss black to match the piano black exterior details. There are blue brake calipers too, and badges on the rear fender and b-pillars.
A choice of two colours boils down to Ciallo Corse and Blue Vittoria, both of which are emblematic of Modena. Maserati reckons the three-layer finishes have ‘a notably tangible effect’, whatever that means.
Inside the cabins are finished with blue carbon fibre, yellow and blue stitching across the Nero Pienofiore black leather, with MC Edition logos on the headrests and centre console.
You also get an electric sunroof, a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system and a driver assistance pack thrown in for good measure. That enough to sway you?
MC of course stands for Maserati Corse, a reference you’ll find in the name of the new (and most excellent) MC20 supercar. You can read our review by clicking this timely hyperlink.
