An electric Jeep Renegade is scheduled for 2027, and it'll cost $25,000

Stellantis has outlined its global future plans - including a really cheap new BEV- via a massive 196-page presentation

Published: 17 Jun 2024

Stellantis has announced plans for a very electric and very cheap Renegade. It’s priced less than $25,000 (£19,740), and it’s due to hit global showrooms in 2027, according to Stellantis's (extremely comprehensive) Investor Day presentation. Wait, what?

That eye-popping price point will make the Jeep Renegade EV cheaper than the Avenger, the first all-electric model to launch Stellantis’ mega global BEV push.

Jeep’s likely to build the Renegade EV on the same ’smart car’ platform as the recently announced Vauxhall Frontera and Fiat Grande Panda, though nothing’s been confirmed at this early stage. Whether the Frontera's 186-248-mile range is indicative is anyone's guess. But to put it in context, the Avenger only gets 190 miles out of its 54kWh battery.

On the US product road map, Jeep brand boss Antonia Filosa also mentioned the all-electric 592bhp Jeep Wagoneer S and the Jeep Recon EV, the latter expected sometime next year.

Stellantis also told us the launch of a new Compass and yet-to-be-named ‘new mainstream UV’ would happen before 2027, too.
