You must see this collection of 20 immaculate McLarens for sale
The Mansour Ojjeh-owned ‘Last of Legends’ group is headlined by one of the lowest-mileage McLaren F1s in the world
This is perhaps the world’s greatest - and orangest - assembly of McLarens ever, and the whole 20-car lot is going up for sale via Tom Hartley Jnr. We’ll give you a minute.
Dubbed the ‘Last of Legends’ collection, it was owned by the late Mansour Akram Ojjeh: a French-Arabian entrepreneur who long had a stake in the McLaren Group, and was a pivotal figure behind its Formula One success.
The set comprises various special editions, long-tails and Le Mans series cars, with some of the highlights including a Sabre, Senna GTR and Speedtail. That Elva was delivered after Mansour’s passing, and in a mark of respect, McLaren swapped the original manufacturer badging with his own unique emblem.
But the crown jewel is undoubtedly the F1. It’s believed to be one of the lowest mileage examples in the world (1,810km showing), and apparently, Lewis Hamilton has even had a go in it. As if the F1 isn’t special enough already.
The only other car to have seen any use is the P1 GTR - driven occasionally on track days - with the remaining 18 vehicles showing zero miles. Zilch. Nada. Each is also the very last chassis designation of that specific model, which was requested by Mansour to ensure they had every technical upgrade available throughout the production cycle.
“McLaren meant so much to Mansour,” said Kathy Ojjeh. “It was more than business, it was pure passion. The collection is a treasure for our family – a reminder of the hours we witnessed Mansour designing each car to his specifications. He had an unusual talent for detail that stuns and impresses, driven by the very passion he nurtured for so many years with McLaren.
“Parting with this personal collection is not easy, but it is time for it to go to its new custodian. One who truly ‘gets it’ and will cherish owning and caring for it the way Mansour did.”
Any guesses as to how much the collection could fetch?
