Video: four 1036bhp LaFerrari FXXKs race round Imola
Today, TopGear.com will answer the unanswerable. Happiness: how much does it cost?
Around €2.5m buys you a LaFerrari FXXK - or it would, if all 40 hadn't already been sold. And if the sound of that 6.3-litre V12 being revved to the skies isn't the aural equivalent of pure, unparalleled joy, then we don't know what is. Happiness equals LaFerrari FXXK, therefore happiness equals €2.5m. Simple.
Here we have lots of happiness. Around €10m worth of FXXKs at a private Corse Clienti event at Imola, likely being piloted by their undoubtedly ecstatic owners. You can read all about the FXXK here, but if you want a brief refresher, do read on.
It's a track-only special that mates a 848bhp V12 with an electric motor for a combined 1036bhp. Based on the LaFerrari road car, the FXXK has new camshafts, reworked intake manifolds and a silencer-less exhaust system that sounds, well, like the noise in the video above. There's more than twice as much downforce as the standard car. With all the many spoilers and aerofoils, plus sticky Pirelli rubber, it's a solid five seconds a lap quicker around Fiorano than its road-going ancestor.
Now, you know the drill. Headphones on, volume up...
