This Theon Design Porsche 911 features a supercharged engine and semi-active suspension

Porsche doesn’t do supercharged versions of the 911. So if you want one, you need to go down the restomodding, reimagining route. And that’ll lead you to something that looks like this: the first customer-ordered example of a Porsche 911 by Theon Design with the 3.6-litre supercharged flat-six. 

Commissioned by a Belgian, the blown 911 develops a nice, round 400bhp and 367bhp, which is plenty in a car that weighs about the same as a Ford Fiesta ST.

Ready to go with a full tank of fuel, it weighs 1,265kg, and that weight is better balanced than 911s of old too. Because the supercharger is fixed to the original air-con unit mounts, that’s migrated frontwards.

The power’s dealt with by a rebuilt five-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Meanwhile, the tyres are kept in contact with the road via a bespoke five-setting adaptive suspension system tuned to work on Britain’s unique(ly crap) B-roads. 

Theon’s very proud of the car not requiring any unsightly holes in the bodywork for extra cooling, and the symmetry of its engine bay. It’s all very tidy, as you’d expect for a base price of £380,000. Plus taxes. Plus donor car. Plus 18 months for your bespoke build to be, um, built.
