The Porsche 911 Speedster configurator is here

What would your £211k hardcore, drop-top Porsche look like?

Published: 14 May 2019

Porsche’s configurator is among the best time wasters on the Internet. And now it’s even better thanks to the addition of the 911 Speedster, which starts at £211k and, as we’ll see, can be optioned up to far, far more than that.

Traditionally, Porsche waves goodbye to each generation of 911 with a Speedster model. It did it for the G-Series, the 964, 993 (kinda) and 997. And now it’s done it for the 991 too. All have cut-down windscreens, canvas soft-tops and are of limited supply.

The 991, which is effectively a 911 GT3 minus a roof, is limited to 1,948 cars. Its 4.0-litre engine makes 503bhp - 10bhp more than in the GT3 - and gets individual throttle bodies for even sharper responses. You can’t get a PDK gearbox, either. Just a six-speed manual. Lovely.

Now, onto the configurator. Click on these words to go have a play. And don’t forget to visit TG.com again tonight at 11pm to read our 911 Speedster review...
