Here are a load of cars that look great in yellow

Recently, Acura (that’s American for ‘Honda’) decided to get its paintbrushes out and slather the NSX in yellow. Indy Yellow, to be precise. It’s a ‘modern interpretation’ of Spa Yellow, one of the more popular colours on the original NSX and has been done to make the car feel fresh for 2020. But this got the rusty gears in our heads turning as there are lots of other cars that look rather splendiferous in shades of yellow. So, after much shouting, here’s our not-so definitive list of other great cars that look great in yellow. If you have any other suggestions, let us know in the comments below. Now get clicking.

A yellow and black striped Ford GT40 Mk IV finished fourth at Le Mans in 1967. That colour combo still looks good over fifty years later on the latest version of Ford's supercar, the Ford GT. 

Here's a double-yolker of yellow: the original Ruf Yellowbird, and its spiritual successor, the 2017 CTR.

You can't get this car in any other colour but yellow. And we don't think you'd want to as it's stunning. It is, of course, the one-off, bright yellow duckbilled 1967 Ferrari 206 Dino Competizione. 

This is what happens when a double F1 champ hires the world’s most illustrious car design house for a track-only supercar. Then has to get rid of a few tins of yellow paint.

The Aventador SVJ is the most extreme version of the Aventador, featuring the most powerful V12 Lamborghini has ever created. It's also available in yellow.

It’s a spiky, spiteful car to drive. It’s also a spiky, spiteful car to look at. We love it. 

The Demon is the work of Dodge’s most hardcore guys who are car enthusiasts of the highest order. They holed themselves up in a room, applied the logic of aftermarket but then massaged it within the restraints of American regulation. Then applied a primary colour that's the mix of green and blue.

The AZ-1 is a mid-engined, rear-drive sports car with absurd doors. It's also tiny. And available in yellow.

Want your V10 supercar to stand out? Paint it yellow. Still not working? Lash some skis to the roof.

Watch out! It's a bumblebee coming to attack you! Oh no, it's not. It's a Corvette going sideways. Still better watch out. 

No 're-sale red' Ferrari here. A brave but beautiful choice for Maranello's steroidal and stripped-out 488. 

How do you add some sunshine to a cold, British winter? A bright yellow Mustang. This isn’t any Mustang, though. It’s a Mustang GT350 R. And not just any Ford Mustang GT350 R. Oh no. A Ford Mustang GT350 R tuned by a man called John Hennessey who thinks 858bhp is sensible.

Not all Ford Transits are white. This is the oldest surviving roadworthy example. And it's yellow.

This fizzy, daft, showy, cute, crazy and just oh-so-charming, mid-engined, 252bhp little critter can still turn heads today. But still leaves us wondering what the hell it was actually for. Actually, we don't care. It's silly, and that's all that matters.

The P1 GTR is of course, McLaren’s ultimate version of its P1 hypercar, replete with a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 matched to an electric motor. It sits on lower fixed suspension, a monster fixed rear wing (with 400kg of downforce), a new centrally mounted exhaust clad in titanium and Iconel and a wider front track.
