Got £236k? Buy the rarest Aston Martin on sale

One-off AM37 edition Vanquish Volante on sale in time for summer. Tempted?

Published: 05 Apr 2017

Want an Aston Martin Valkyrie, but with up to 150 being made, fear it won’t be rare enough? Well, look this way. There is no Aston as rare as the Vanquish you see here.

To the naked human eye it probably looks like ‘just’ a Vanquish Volante. ‘Just’, naturally, is not the perfect word for describing a V12 convertible with something approaching 600bhp. But in the context of modern hypercars, you know what we mean.

This, though, is an AM37 Vanquish Volante. It is a one-of-one limited edition – see, told you Astons get no scarcer – and it’s the work of the company’s Q bespoke department. It was created to help launch the AM37 powerboat.

Its colour scheme is intended to match its nautical cousin, then, with Concours Blue paint being twinned with Chestnut Tan and White Essence leather. Yeah, don’t expect plainly named hues in a super-rare special.

There’s more. Inside you’ll find Rosewood trim and Conker Saddle carpets (really). But with a wailing V12 engine and the crisp throttle response only an old-school, turbo-free engine can offer, you’ll soon forgive the overdramatic rebranding of ‘cream’ and ‘brown’.

Mind, this Vanquish has covered a mere 450 miles, so you might want to take your first few weeks easy with that V12 not fully run in yet.

Alternatively, you might care little for such mechanical sympathy and wish to just nail it immediately. When you’ve paid £236,950 for the privilege, the choice is yours…
